The newest service that was offered by the Health Insurance Fund several weeks ago to the persons, who have compulsory health insurance (CHI), in consideration to the difficult epidemic situation is to form the certificate substituting EHIC independently and to download it electronically – to a mobile phone or e-mail. It may be done 24/7 on the external NHIF portal (Application Form
It is an excellent opportunity to access the document that confirms the right to the necessary medical help safely and quickly. The certificates may be downloaded at any time of the day, not only on working days, but also on weekends or national holidays. So, if you leave to another Member State of the European Union without your EHIC and you need urgent medical help, you may download the certificate on your own. The most important thing is to have compulsory health insurance.
