Official: vaccination in pharmacies will be available from the next year
2020-11-10
The Seimas (Lithuanian Parliament) agreed that the pharmacists of extended practice will be able to provide health care services to the residents starting with the 1st of March 2021. It means that people will be able to be vaccinated against flu or other diseases in pharmacies. It is especially relevant because of difficult epidemiological situation in the country. Besides, this will help to ensure continuous availability and quality of medical services.

It is important to note that wider selection of vaccination places is also important because the time is approaching when coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine will be introduced to the market by its manufacturers. It will be attempted to vaccinate as many residents in as brief period as possible.

As it has been announced many times already, the Ministry of Health reminds that coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccination will not be compulsory – i.e., people will be able to make own decisions whether they would like to get a vaccine, the creation process of which is coming to an end.
